According to the data delivered by BCA and Manheim Auctions September is the seventh month this year in which the average values of used vans have increased. The average wholesale price for second-hand van sale increased by some 4.8 to 5 five percent. Comparing to the September last year the average wholesale prices of used vans are higher by an estimated 19.5 percent. This happens despite the average age of used vans going up by some three months to 56 months. The average mileage is also going higher by an assessed 1,600 miles. As both agencies dealing with the resale of used vans have noticed, this year vans are being sold much faster and for more money as volumes have reduced by some 13 percent compared with September last year. These reductions in volumes result from stock shortages and those, in turn, have helped drive wholesale values of second-hand commercial vehicles ever higher. At the time when buyers are browsing offers and try to hit some bargains, dealers are working even harder in a whole variety of ways in order to secure the best stock for resale. Economy does not like perfect situations and now it is the best time for those willing to sell their used vans, but harder time for those betting to buy ones cheaper.
